James Randall "Jim" Ross, 83 of Lore City

James Randall “Jim” Ross, age 83 of Lore City, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was born in Cambridge, on May 30, 1933 a son of the late William “Randall” Ross and Myra Louise (Syme) Ross.
Mr. Ross was a 1951 graduate of Old Washington High School. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of the American Jersey Cattle Club; and the Ohio Jersey Breeders Association where he was a past district director and past president. He was also a member of the Dairy Shrine Club. He was known for showing cattle nationally and competed in many different states. The Ross Oak Hill Farm won four National Jersey Futurities. He showed cattle in Canada four times at the Royal Winter Fair and at the Florida and West Virginia State Fairs many years. He was a nationally accredited dairy judge and judged all over the country in many states fairs and shows. He was also an associate judge in 1971 for the National Jersey Futurity.
Jim is survived by: two sons, Jeffery (Jill) Ross of Cambridge and John Ross of Lore City; their mother Sharon Miller; two grandsons, Randall Ross and Patrick Ross; a sister Nancy (William) Baker of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
