BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) – Brett Moffitt passed Timothy Peters and William Byron on the final lap to win the NASCAR Truck Series race at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday.
Moffitt, the Sprint Cup rookie of the year last season, was making his fourth Trucks start this year in the No. 11 Toyota.
– Michael McDowell won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Road America on Saturday, edging Brendan Gaughan following an overtime restart.
A regular on NASCAR’s top Sprint Cup circuit, McDowell took his first career Xfinity checkered flag, winning by 0.534 seconds on an overcast, sometimes misty afternoon at the sprawling road course.
-The Michigan International Speedway is the next stop for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Joey Logano is on the pole for today’s Pure Michigan 400, Jimmie Johnson is along side him in Row One.
