Bryan Bell suspected in as many as a half-dozen thefts over past month
CUMBERLAND, Ohio — A Cumberland man, suspected in as many as a half-dozen thefts in the village over the past month, was arrested by Guernsey County Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday.
Detective Sam Williams tells AVC News that 22-year-old Bryan Bell was apprehended in his pick-up on a Spencer Township road late Tuesday evening, hours after he is believed to have broken into a Cumberland residence and stolen a number of items. Detective Williams says that Bell was taken into custody without incident, and assisted deputies in recovering the stolen items, including hundreds of dollars worth of electronics.
Bell, who was wanted on a bench warrant for failure to appear in court, is the prime suspect in numerous thefts around Cumberland in July and August.
Bell is in custody under a felony hold in the Guernsey County Jail. Charges related to Tuesday’s alleged burglary are pending, while the other incidents remain under investigation.
